We've already reached the scorching sunny summer, so what sunscreens will provide the best protection?
Welcome to summer! It may not officially begin until June 21st, but the sun is here and you need to protect yourself from it.
Consumer Reports annual study of sunscreens will be released in their July issue, but they have released some news. First, about a third of the sunscreens tested by Consumer Reports gave less than 1/2 the protection the label claimed to offer.
Experts, as always, recommend "broad-spectrum" products and higher than 30 SPF. Which products tested best?
The top lotions from the list were:
La Roche-Posay Anthelios 60 Melt-in Sunscreen Milk SPF 60
Equate Sport Lotion SPF 50
Pure Sun Defense Disney Frozen Lotion SPF 50
The top spray and stick suncreens were:
Trader Joe's Spray SPF 50+
Up & Up (Target) Kids Sunscreen Stick SPF 55
