A front is moving through the Tampa Bay Area today and early tomorrow bringing us a good chance of showers.
The current Doppler Radar is showing a river of moisture moving into the state of Florida that will linger through Wednesday. Timing for local showers in the Bay area look to be around 11am today, with another round of storms early Wednesday morning. The National Weather Service in Ruskin is forecasting a 70% chance of showers for both today and tonight and some could see as much as an inch of rain or more out of this event.
During the winter months, the Tampa Bay area normally receives 7.51" of rain. This past winter (Dec/Jan/Feb) the Tampa Bay area received 8.56" of rain, that is up 1.05" from normal making the 2017-2018 winter the 38th. wettest winter ever recorded. Not bad for what seemed like a dry winter.
But our lawns and plants can rejoice today and tomorrow as a good soaking appears to be in our VERY near future.
