There are few matches in sports history quite as infamous as the 1973 “Battle of the Sexes” tennis match that pitted Billie Jean King against Bobby Riggs, and now the story behind the historic match will be coming to theaters this fall.
Battle of the Sexes stars Academy Award winner Emma Stone as King and Academy Award nominee Steve Carell as Riggs and features an incredible cast that includes Andrea Riseborough, Sarah Silverman, Bill Pullman, Alan Cumming and Elisabeth Shue.
The film will not only touch on King and Riggs’ professional struggles during this time, but it will also delve into each tennis star’s personal struggles, from Riggs’ gambling issues to King coming to grips with her sexuality.
