NEW YORK, NY - OCTOBER 06: Lindsey Buckingham of Fleetwood Mac performs on stage at Madison Square Garden on October 6, 2014 in New York City; NEW YORK, NY - OCTOBER 09: Christine McVie of Fleetwood Mac performs on NBC's 'Today' at the NBC's TODAY Show on October 9, 2014 in New York, New York.

Fleetwood Mac regroups this weekend to play the first of two Classic festival shows on Sunday (June 16) at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.

It’s the group’s first public live performance since November of 2015, and guitarist Lindsey Buckingham tells us the group will be ready but a bit loose for the event:

“You don’t have to do your full set because there’s a few acts on the bill. So we’re just gonna go in and close our eyes and have fun, you know? That’s all that I can say about it. It’s sort of a spectacle; You can’t really worry about the aesthetics or even any particular coherency of the bill, or any of it necessarily. You just have to have fun with it, and hopefully that’s what we will do.”

Christine McVie — who’s currently touring with Buckingham to promote the duo album they released this year — adds that,

“There’ll be more of the same, I expect…I think we’ve got muscle memory since it was so long we were on the road before, a year and a half or something, and it will probably be basically the same set…Certainly we’ll start with ‘The Chain.’ I don’t know if we might decide to make an extreme move and do something different.”

Fleetwood Mac will be joined on Sunday by Journey and Earth, Wind & Fire, while the Eagles, Steely Dan and the Doobie Brothers play on Saturday (June 15). A Classic East weekend takes place July 29-30 at Citi Field in New York.
