If you spend time on St. Pete Beach, you probably know the laws on alcohol on the beach can be pretty strict. That might be changing.

Commissioners are considering loosening the ordinance on alcohol on the beach for the hotels in St. Pete Beach. This would allow guests at the hotels to drink on the beach in the cabana area. The ‘cabana area’ refers to areas at least 50 feet from the wet sand, and would be allowed between 10 a.m. and 10 p.m.

The commission will meet on the issue August 8th and the Sheriff has already given approval.
