The video for “Thriller” already changed the way we looked at music videos in 1983. Today, we’re looking forward to the 3D version of the video which may set a new benchmark by which we view music videos.

Michael Jackson’s estate announced “Michael Jackson’s Thriller 3D” will debut at this year’s Venice Film Festival, which runs August 30 through September 9th.

There is also a “Making of” documentary that was on the original VHS cassette. That video will also be shown at the festival, which is the first time the documentary will be shown in a theater.

John Landis, who directed the original video, oversaw the project.
