SeaWorld Entertainment, the parent company over the SeaWorld and Busch Gardens parks, may have some companies interested in buying the theme parks.
One such company is Merlin Entertainments, the company that owns Legoland parks.
SeaWorld has been struggling following the issues with protesters brought on by the film Blackfish. Since 2013, SeaWorld has chosen to phase out the killer whales from shows and breeding, and have marketed the thrill rides they offer.
Reports show that SeaWorld could bring in as much as $1 billion if they were to sell off Busch Gardens, and Merlin Entertainments’ CFO Anne-Francoise Nesmes is showing interest in keeping an eye on the Tampa Bay and Williamsburg theme parks.
