As most of us remember the horrific death of 2-year-old Lane Thomas Graves, of Nebraska when he and his family were playing on the shores of Disney’s 7 Seas Lagoon last year when an alligator grabbed him and dragged him under the water. His father tried to go in after him and remove him from the clutch of the gator but unfortunately failed. His body was recovered by divers shortly after.
Disney has now installed a lighthouse sculpture in Lane’s memory. The sculpture will also serve as a symbol of the Lane Thomas Foundation, a charitable organization established by Lane’s family following their tragedy that also uses a lighthouse as its logo.
