In today's digital age, you have to be wary of people trying to scam you.

Have you ever been contacted by a Nigerian prince asking for your bank account information so he can share his personal windfall with you? We're too smart nowadays to fall for that one, right?!

The criminals get craftier. There's a new scam involving someone who is pretending to be Robert Downey Jr. "He" wants you to donate to a worthy cause.

Downey posted a message to warn the public. He said, "I will never communicate via private chat platform. And I would never ask individual fans for money for any reason. I am constantly humbled by the incredible love, support and generosity of our little community. Some want to take advantage of that, so let's have each other's back."

Now if Tony Stark asks you to donate to a worthy cause...now that's a different story.
