Does a land purchase by Universal Orlando indicate that the park could be expanding? Or maybe it means a new park is coming. Universal Orlando purchased 101 acres across I-4 and that gives them more than 570 acres to work with.

Universal Orlando spokesman, Tom Schroeder says, "We are excited for the future, but have no additional details to share now."

It's interesting because Universal Orlando Resort is established in a relatively compact area, 700 acres, when compared to Walt Disney World, which occupies 25,000 acres.

So now is the perfect time to expand for Universal Orlando as they've seen spikes in attendance after opening their Harry Potter attractions.

They have plans to add a new ride each year. For example, they'll be opening a Fast & Furious ride next year.
