Eight Crazy Nights In Classic Rock History

Tonight (December 12) marks the first night of Hanukkah, and thanks to Adam Sandler referring to the holiday as “Eight Crazy Nights,” we thought we’d look back at eight crazy nights in classic rock history.  Enjoy!

Just another drunken night of urinating on a historical landmark.

Among those busted during the infamous 1967 raid for various drug possession charges were Mick Jagger and then girlfriend Marianne Faithfull, who was reportedly only wearing a fur rug at the time of the bust.  Not sure how one could wear a rug…

Probably one of the Lizard King’s most infamous moments, Morrison was arrested in March 1969 for apparently dropping his pants during a concert in Florida, even though no photographic evidence was found.

We’ve all heard about this myth, and if you haven’t, check out this video for all the (alleged) lurid details.

Doing a complete 180 from the last story, this iconic moment is crazy thanks to the wild fans in attendance and the sheer attendance itself.

In the same vein of iconic performances, Hendrix’s set at the Monterey Pop Festival is one of the best in history.  Oh…and then there’s the whole lighting his guitar on fire thing.

Seems funny that this was such a big deal, but people were irate about Bob Dylan performing electric for the first time at the Newport Folk Festival.  Just listen to the boos at the end of “Maggie’s Farm” in the clip below.

Honestly, we could’ve done an entire “Eight Crazy Nights” list just about Moon The Loon.  Pick a story.  They’re all pretty much true.  Just ask good friend Alice Cooper.
