Happy New Year everyone! Here’s a round-up of a few other classic rock stories making the rounds today (January 2.)
VIDEO: Keith Urban’s Tribute to Musicians We Lost in 2017
Country superstar Keith Urban performed at the New Year’s Eve concert Music City Midnight in Nashville where he included a very moving tribute to the musical giants we lost in 2017. Urban played a melody of songs that included Soundgarden’s “Black Hole Sun” in honor of Chris Cornell; Allman Brothers Band’s “Midnight Rider” in honor of Gregg Allman; Chuck Berry’s “Johnny B. Goode”; and AC/DC’s “Back in Black” in honor of Malcolm Young. He rounded out the tribute by playing Tom Petty’s “Free Fallin’ in its entirety.
Erica Banas is a news blogger who's been covering the rock/classic rock world since 2014. The coolest event she's ever covered in person was the 2021 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony. (Sir Paul McCartney inducting Foo Fighters? C'mon now!) She's also well-versed in etiquette and extraordinarily nice. #TransRightsAreHumanRights
