When the action was discovered, three employees were arrested for "endangering the life or health of a child and battery," according to reports.
The Des Plaines Police Department was contacted when management learned what had happened.
Though the arrests had been made this past Friday, it's believed one of the employees may have been doing this since 2016. Parents of the children were not notified of the drug, so there was no way to know if any of the children were allergic to melatonin. Authorities did say that no children had become sick.
Scary, isn't it?
