Great news for those who consistently partake in a workout. A new study found people who exercise and stay active throughout their adult life don’t age as quickly. The study looked at two groups of people between 55 and 80 years old: one group had exercised most of their adult lives; the other group hadn’t. This is crazy, but the ones who stayed active still had the muscle mass, body fat, and cholesterol of someone half their age. Also, men’s testosterone levels were still comparatively high. Additionally, those who exercised had strong immune systems, comparable to those in their 20’s or 30’s. All the more reason to grab your running shoes, your dumbbells, whatever it is that will help you stay fit.
