"CAN I HAVE THE COBB SALAD WITHOUT THE LETTUCE ?"
Modifying your order so that is basically an entire different dish - not so cool.
"I KNOW YOU'RE CLOSING SOON BUT DO WE HAVE TIME FOR DINNER ?"
Of course they won't turn you away, but don't hang out for hours when the restaurant is closed.
"I'M FRIENDS WITH THE OWNER ?"
This is a request waiters hear over and over and no it will not get you a better table or freebies.
"CAN I ORDER TACOS FROM THE SECRET MENU ?"
Listen I know Starbucks might have a secret menu, but most places don't.
"MY KID ONLY EATS X, CAN YOU HAVE YOUR GUY WHIP UP SOMETHING HE"LL EAT ?"
Ask for the kids menu and maybe don't bring your super picky child out to eat.

It's true that when you were a kid and dropped your ice cream cone, you got a new one and we'll give you another burger for sure, but it's annoying.
