World championship Sailing Comes To Clearwater Beach

Beautiful white sugar sand, excellent sailing conditions and the fact that it is consistently named the number one beach in the United States are just a couple of reasons the RS Feva World Championship is being hosted at the Clearwater Community Sailing Center this year.

This event marks the first time the RS Feva sailboat has hosted a World Championships outside of Europe which typically attracts over 400 sailors.

This week, more than 100 sailors from 11 different countries will compete to take home a world championship. The actual racing starts Wednesday and runs through Sunday. Spectators are encouraged to go down to the sailing center to see the competition from Sand Key.
