There are a couple of places where you should refrain from using your debit card if you don’t want to take a chance on having your information stolen.
1. Gas pumps. It’s too easy for skimmers to be set up there, and then crooks can get your information.
2. Restaurants. You’re handing your card off to a person who could have a handheld skimmer or take a photo of your card with their cell phone.
3. On the Internet. There are multiple ways that someone could access your information online and use it in a nefarious way. Hackers could go to an online site where you’ve been shopping. Or you could have malware on your computer and not know it.
