Famous Star Wars Memorabilia Up For Auction, One Iconic Item Removed
Profiles In History, known for high-end Hollywood auctions, is set to auction off some familiar Star Wars memorabilia.
It begins this weekend as they auction off an R2-D2 that has been used at Walt Disney parks and events. It is a replica built for Walt Disney and is remote controlled. You may have seen it during Star Wars Weekend parades at Walt Disney World. It is expected to gather somewhere up near $200,000.

Then, when Profiles In History has their Icons & Legends of Hollywood Auction beginning June 5th, there will be some more familiar Star Wars’ iconic props. These include: C3PO and Darth Vader models, each built by Industrial Light & Magic, the ones who created each of the original Star Wars characters. Also included is ILM’s ‘Death Star’ model from Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi.
Obi Wan’s on-screen used lightsaber had been removed from June’s auction as there are questions about the item’s authenticity.
