A Fort Myers store clerk found the perfect way to keep all the winning scratch tickets for herself. The $20 Gold Rush Doubler ticket was the ticket she cheated with. A customer noticed small scratches near the bottom of his ticket and turned her in. Authorities found 83 tickets with small scratches, just enough to tell if it was a winner on the bar code.
Authorities say Wendy Klinker was allegedly pre scratching the tickets and keeping the winners while selling the losers.
Klinker was arrested last Friday after store film showed her scratching the tickets. She’s out on bail and the investigation is ongoing. So, check your tickets when you buy them and make sure there are NO SCRATCHES on any part of your ticket.
