So, while millions of Americas plan Memorial Day parties and cook-outs, Floridians will have a concerned eye on the weather. Once that low moves further north into the warm waters of the Gulf, there will be a greater chance of the storm strengthening into something tropical (depression or storm). Upper level winds will also be lighter allowing the system to strengthen.

As the system continues to move further to the north it will drag deep tropical moisture into our area bringing heavy rain and thunderstorms to Tampa Bay for the holiday weekend. We can expect several inches of rain and we will also have to watch rivers and flood-prone areas as well.
