Miss America will no longer do the swimsuit competition. The contestants will no longer be judged on appearance. It's a beauty competition, so I don't know how you take appearance out of it. This change was because of an email scandal at the top that found judges denigrating contestants. There was a shuffle of the people at the top and now the new format for Miss America.
