Target Offers Special Discount For Teachers

Many teachers in budget-strapped schools are forced to pay for their own classroom supplies, and Target wants to help lighten that load.

The retailer is offering special discount coupons to teachers this week as part of its "Teacher Prep Event". A spokeswoman says it's "a way for Target to acknowledge teachers are going the extra mile for their students".

The last year has seen a number of high-profile teacher walkouts by educators tired of underfunded schools.
