A recent study out of the Swiss Tropical Health Institute looked at about 700 adolescents between ages 12 to 17 in Switzerland. They discovered that there could be a link between their daily exposure to radiofrequency electromagnetic fields (RF-EMF) and their memory performance. The study revealed that the effects of RF-EMF exposure was more exaggerated in participants using their smartphone on the right side of their head, and that continuous exposure to smartphones over the course of a year negatively affects the figural memory. The good news is that text messaging and video games didn't seem to affect that part of the brain.
So while you may be excited about the amount of memory on your smartphone, it could be affecting your own memory.
