Michael Philip Jagger, known to the world as Mick Jagger, was born on this day in 1943.

Jagger is the frontman for pioneering rockers the Rolling Stones and he is arguably the archetype of the rock and roll star.

He started out his career emulating artists like James Brown, but in a career that spans over five decades, Jagger has become his own performer.

He’s a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, he’s been knighted in his home country of England, and he just might be the only great-grandfather doing stadium tours around the globe.

To all this we say simply, happy 75th birthday Mick!
