Believe it or not, 20% of new parents say they've vetoed a baby name because the internet domain name was already taken.

The research, conducted by OnePoll on behalf of GoDaddy featured 1,000 millennial parents (aged 24-38) and 1,000 Gen X parents (aged 39-53).

For instance, if their last name was Caden and they wanted to name their new son Braden, they check the domain availability of "Braden Caden" and that's where 20% say they've vetoed a name before.

So, why so much importance on having a domain name? 45% think that their child will use it for college applications. 48% think their kid will use it one day when they are job searching. And 35% think their kid will want it for a personal website.
