Lady Gaga lives her dream... of being an actor!
Yes, Gaga is going to star in her first movie roll. According to HollywoodReporter.com, this will be the fourth re-make of the movie, "A Star Is Born".
The original film was produced in 1937, starring Janet Gaynor. The film was a hit again in 1954 staring Judy Garland and James Mason. In 1976 "Star" was re-made for a third time with memorable performances by both Barbara Streisand and Kris Kristofferson. The 1976 version won several Academy Awards as well as 5 Golden Globes.
The latest version of the classic movie is due to be released in October of this year and will star Lady Gaga alongside mega star, Cooper. "Coop" will also take on the role of directing his first film.
For Gaga, this is her first attempt at acting. And while Cooper is an established actor and mega movie star, he says this will be his first attempt at acting, directing, singing and preforming all in front of a live audience. Cooper's character is an aging singer and Bradly will be doing all of his own vocals in the film.
Both Gaga and Cooper say that this endeavor of firsts for them both, led to a great mutual support for each other. The latest version of "Star" debuted at a press screening last week in Venice, with the response indicating that Gaga and Cooper may have put themselves in prime contention for awards of their own this year.
Following its world premier in Venice, the film headed to the Toronto Film Festival, then to be released worldwide in October of '18.
Lets hope the 2018 version can measure up to its predecessors. It certainly has some pretty big "award shoes" to fill.
