Last month it was revealed that their French fries are the best selling menu item at McDonald's. But what makes them so addictive? According to Reader's Digest, it's their flavor.

MickyD's fries are created in the same fashion as many others, but the taste comes from how they're cooked.

Starting in the 1950s, the fast food giant used a mix of oil and beef fat. But in the 80s when health advocates pointed out how bad saturated fats actually are, McDonald's came up with a solution.

While vegans and vegetarians may want to cover their eyes and ears, the fries are cooked in pure vegetable oil with a "natural beef flavor" added.

Who makes the best fast food fries? Which style do you like?
