8 Keys To Throwing A Successful Party
With the holidays creeping up on us in a matter of days, you might be thinking of throwing a party at your home. If so, here are the top eight keys to throwing a successful party.
According to the New York Post, when you throw a party, you have less than twenty minutes to impress someone or they are going to leave. Nice to know that our friends love us so much, right?
So, if you want to throw a good party that actually makes people want to stay, here’s what you need to do:
1. Offer your guests a drink in under eight minutes of arrival
2. Talk to your guests within eight minutes of arrival (and asking if they want a drink doesn’t count)
3. Offer your guests a snack within ten minutes of arrival
4. Offer drink refills within twenty minutes
5. Do NOT talk about polotics
6. Talk about TV shows, movies or food
7. Never ask guests to remove their shoes (it’s a sure way to turn them off)
8. Make sure the party will look good in your guests photos
Other than that, the rest is at your discretion. Christine and I always like to stock our parties with things like a private psychic reading in a back room with a professional Psychic, a group game like Pictionary, catered food, a bar tender and more.
Small gifts are a real nice touch for guests as they leave… especially if it’s a Christmas party. Your guests will never forget you.
