Per NME, a 29-year-old man was arrested for putting blue paint over the face of the Bowie statue located at the Friars Music Club in the town of Aylesbury where the Ziggy Stardust persona made its debut. This marks the second time in six months the statue was defaced, with the first time happening just 48 hours after the statue’s unveiling when the phrase “Feed the homeless first” was spray painted on the statue even though the funds for the tribute came from crowdfunding efforts and various grants.
Seriously...this type of activity is just rude. The statue isn’t hurting anything. Maybe this is the Bowie fan in me, but just let the statue be.
