Parents, do you struggle to raise kids who aren’t materialistic? It gets even more difficult during the holiday season when kids tend to get a little more greedy, going door to door getting candy and making long Christmas lists for Santa.

It’s tough because kids are easily influenced by TV ads. They want the toy everyone is talking about. Parents unconsciously teach their kids to equate buying and having things with happiness. But a new study shows you can overcome these forces. Have your kiddos keep a gratitude journal. Kids in the study who kept a gratitude journal for two weeks showed a significant decrease in materialism and an increase in gratitude.
