Why did Disney’s Magic Kingdom closed early on Monday?

4:30 is a pretty early closing time for the world’s busiest theme park. But that’s what happened at Walt Disney World on Monday, according to The Orlando Sentinel.

Why? The company invited about 4,500 longtime employees to a night out at the park with their plus-ones. They wanted to show some love to longtime “veteran employees”.

Disney closed the park to the public so they could invite staffers and a guest to enjoy a whole night of fun at The Magic Kingdom. A red carpet was put down on Main Street USA. There were buffets, a DJ, line dancing and even a unique fireworks show.

Everyone invited has worked for Disney for a decade. The annual tradition of honoring employees’ hire milestones dates as far back to Disneyland in 1965.

What a great way to say thank you to long-time, hard working employees.
