If you love the taste of a deep-fried turkey for Thanksgiving, it's time to get that fryer ready! But remember that safety is an issue! Let William Shatner... explain.

For those who are inexperienced with deep frying a turkey, one of the big mistakes is having more oil in the fryer than needed so when the turkey is set inside, it overflows into the fire.

Another mistake is not defrosting the turkey. Be sure it is defrosted before you try to lower it into the fryer.
