If you live anywhere near Coachman Park in downtown Clearwater (and that means, Dunedin, Island Estates, Clearwater Beach, Sand Key, Belleair or Belleair Beach) you were probably startled out of your skin by the fireworks explosions last night at about 7pm.
The fireworks were all part of the kick-off celebration for the Clearwater Christmas Carnival.
For the first time, Clearwater is hosting a Winter carnival featuring rides, games and midway-style foods. The entire festival will be nestled into Coachman Park through December 9th.
Live music and entertainment is free to enjoy. Wristbands and tickets for rides are sold separately.
Unlimited Ride Wristbands are valid for one day during all open hours. Wristbands are $30 at the event, save $5 each buying them in advance.
Individual ride tickets may also be purchased at the event. To visit the Clearwater Christmas Carnival website click HERE.
The Downtown Clearwater Holiday Carnival is presented by the Community Redevelopment Agency and the City of Clearwater.
