Is technology helping us or hurting us? It's definitely saving us time when we can pop a frozen dinner in the microwave and...voila! Dinner is served. You don't have to wait a day for it to thaw out.

How much time does technology really save us? Self-service checkouts, internet shopping or banking and mobile traffic updates are saving us about six-and-a-half hours a week, which adds up to two weeks per year. Cell phones save us about an hour per week.

Maybe we do take it a bit for granted...mobile devices allow us to maximize our time by helping us avoid bad traffic areas or let others know if we're running late. But if you're like me and you've downloaded an app that tells you how much you're on your phone...yikes! You might find some areas where technology is inspiring us to waste time.
