Bucs Coach On Verge Of Being Fired?
Rumors are swirling around One Buc Place that the Bucs’ coach is on the verge of being fired.
Our Tampa Bay Bucs fell to 5-9 on the season with yesterday’s 20-12 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. And with this most recent loss, reports quickly surfaced about Buccaneers’ head coach Dirk Koetter getting let go. Koetter, 59, has been the team’s head coach since 2016. But, he is reportedly likely to be fired after the season.
CBS Sports reported the news:
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have begun gathering information on potential head coaches and are making contingencies for a coaching search, with Dirk Koetter unlikely to be back next season, league sources said. Tampa can finish no higher than .500 and has several big-picture decisions to make this off-season, including what to do with quarterback Jameis Winston, who is entering his fifth-year option in 2019, which is currently only guaranteed for injury.
Yesterday’s loss was painful to watch. Its becoming harder and harder to be a Bucs fan. So, if cutting Koetter insures a better team going forward, and in my opinion it can only help, I say let’s look into the idea.
