Upon the release of the news, social media was quick to questions whether or not the two actresses should be considered for the role.
In the past white actresses, Elizabeth Taylor and Vivien Leigh have portrayed Cleopatra and according to historical research, it’s believed that her mother was African. A digital recreation of Cleopatra also revealed that she had a dark complexion and corn rolls.
