Swimming With The Largest Great White Shark
Have you seen the photos of divers swimming with a great white shark off the shores of Oahu? I’ve always wanted to do the dive off Alcatraz where you get…

GANSBAAI, SOUTH AFRICA – OCTOBER 19: A Great White Shark is attracted by a lure on the ‘Shark Lady Adventure Tour’ on October 19, 2009 in Gansbaai, South Africa. The lure, usually a tuna head, is attached to a buoy and thrown into the water in front of the cage with the divers. The waters off Gansbaai are the best place in the world to see Great White Sharks, due to the abundance of prey such as seals and penguins which live and breed on Dyer Island, which lies 8km from the mainland. I've always wanted to do the dive off Alcatraz where you get in the cage and have an encounter with a great white shark. But this is too close for my comfort.
A team of divers researching a whale carcass off Oahu this week came face-to-face with a huge great white shark.
One of the female divers described her. “She was just this big beautiful gentle giant wanting to use our boat as a scratching post. We went out at sunrise, and she stayed with us pretty much throughout the day.”
