Couple’s Dog Dies on Walk With Dog Walker From Popular App, Company Tries Covering It Up
Sara and Nick Moore, from Houston, TX, like a lot of people utilized the popular phone app Wag to have someone stay at their home and care for their dog Winnie while on vacation in August 2018.
“That walker fell in love with Winnie and Winnie fell in love with her,” Nick Moore said.
The couple used the app again in December. They used the first walker that was available even though they felt skeptical.
Nick and Sara were concerned when they didn’t get confirmation the walk had concluded and could not reach the dog walker. Winnie ended up passing away after getting hit by a vehicle.
“We asked Wag for details on what happened and all we got in response was conflicting information or them simply saying they didn’t have much information to provide us with,” Nick said.
Wag ended up sending the couple a $188 settlement for Winnie’s cremation along with a non-disclosure agreement.
“We felt disrespected, and respectfully declined to sign,” said Nick.
