Lawmakers Propose To Legalize Recreational Marijuana In Florida

Two members of the Florida House of Representatives have each filed bills that would legalize recreational use and tax of marijuana.

Legalized marijuana would be allow people over 21 to purchase and use in homes and private places. It would limit the amount that could be purchased. Smoking in public would cause a $100 fine.

The bill would also create an excise tax of $50 per ounce, paid for by the cultivation facility.
