A fierce weather system passing through the southeastern states brought tornadoes to Alabama and Georgia claiming the lives of at least 23 residents.
A series of tornadoes hit Alabama and Georgia Sunday afternoon. At least a dozen twisters hit Lee County, Alabama. 14 people died just south of Opelika, Alabama.
There is significant damage from a suspected F3 tornado that left a 1/4 mile wide track.
Search and rescue efforts are taking place including the use of drones that have heat-seeking technology.
