We’re headed to overtime! Nobody was able to break the 50% mark in total votes in the City of Tampa Mayoral election, so there will be a runoff.
Though she had a dominant lead in votes, Jane Castor’s 48.03% wasn’t enough to secure the win, and so she will be in a runoff against the candidate with the second highest number of votes, David Straz. Straz had 15.45% of the votes.
The runoff is scheduled for April 23, with early voting to begin April 14.
