For some rock acts, the songwriting process for an upcoming album is a convoluted affair involving collaborators, meetings with record company executives and a trove of material that's under tight security to prevent Internet leaks.

But that's not the case with Bon Jovi's upcoming album. All the songs for the as-yet-untitled release were written and are stored on Jon Bon Jovi's cell phone.

"Right now, they are on my phone," Bon Jovi says of the album's 23 tracks. "I sing them in the phone. That’s it, it’s just bad recordings on my phone."

The singer-guitarist says the next step will be going through the recordings with his bandmates and deciding which of them are album-worthy. "I am very happy with what I have," he says. "So now, the question is putting them up and seeing what they are."
