Would you pay $900 for a pair of sneakers that looks like they are 10 years old and in desperate need of a cleaning?
Well the designers at Gucci are betting on the fact you will. The new shoes are called “Screener” sneakers and are actually priced at $870. Unless you want the high top version, in which case those will cost you another $60, priced at $930.
The latest trend is fashion in what the designers call “vintage” or “distressed”. But I just call them old. Now don’t get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with an old pair of sneakers, I have several and they are usually my favorites. But I didn’t pay $870 for them, even when new.
I can’t say I’m a fan of this new product. I’m not a buyer, or even a looker. But Gucci says they are purposely made to look dirty, and believe it or not, they actually provide cleaning instructions in case the high-priced shoes actually get dirty!
That is my take. But lets take a look at what social media is saying about “Screeners”‘ and see what you think!
Are these dirty or are they stylish? Nw Gucci shoes cost $900. The company says they’re vintage, but potential customers online saying. They just look dirty. pic.twitter.com/8hUlmuIaUo
