In honor of National Waffle Day, let me throw three Waffle House fun facts at you.

  • Georgia has the most Waffle House locations of any state – nearly 400.
  • If you poured all of the cups of coffee that Waffle House serves in one year, it would be enough to fill nearly 8 Olympic-size swimming pools!
  • Waffle House is great about being open all the time. So much so that FEMA uses something called the Waffle House Index to help determine the severity of hurricane damage. Green indicates Waffle House is open and running at full capacity. Yellow means they're serving a limited menu. Red indicates it’s closed, and things are very, very serious.

We can always count on Waffle Houses to help us out. Their stores are a beacon of light after a night of drinking, during a long road trip, or even after a heavy storm.
