Melissa Meier is a dietitian and she weighed in on the two popular diets.

The ketogenic diet has gotten a lot of buzz lately. It's a very low carbohydrate diet. There are so many restrictions, so you have to make sure you're still getting all of the nutrients your body needs. Melissa said that this diet helps if you want to lose weight quickly and utilize it as a short-term diet.

The Mediterranean diet has been around for a while. Melissa explains that there is scientific evidence supporting how good it is for your heart. The focus of the diet is on high-nutrient foods.

Melissa votes the Mediterranean diet because of it's long-term results. It's more than a diet...it's a lifestyle.
