Instead, Sam Springsteen wants to be one of those hard-working, blue collar Americans his dad loves to sing about.
The 25-year-old Springsteen progeny recently took a civil service exam in the hopes of becoming a Jersey City firefighter.
He's already served as a volunteer firefighter in Colts Neck, NJ and attended the Monmouth County Fire Academy.
Springsteen paid tribute to the NYC firefighters who responded to the 9/11 attacks in the 2002 song, "The Rising".
