As if being down 2-0 in a series many expected them to sweep, the road to the Stanley Cup might have hit another bump. The Lightning's Nikita Kucherov has been suspended for one game according to NHL Player Safety. This came after a hit Kucherov delivered late in last night's game on Markus Nutivaara.
The series now shifts to Ohio for two games. The Tampa Bay Lightning lost their first two games at Amalie Arena. Two losses on the road at Columbus would be an awful end to their historic season. The Bolts tied the all-time NHL record for most wins in a season. In a sport where every game usually counts at the end of the season, the Lightning finished 21 points ahead of the 2nd place Boston Bruins.

Agreed. The punishment is not undeserved. Just so disappointing.
