You've likely heard the old adage, "A happy wife makes a happy life."

Turns out that is very much the case, according to a new study.

Published in the journal Psychological Science, the findings show keeping one's spouse happy not only saves a person from marital headaches, you'll live longer too.

Olga Stavrova, the study's author at Tilburg University in the Netherlands, notes that spousal satisfaction affected mortality.
"People who have a happy, active spouse, for example, are likely to have an active lifestyle themselves," says Stavrova, adding, "If your partner is depressed and wants to spend the evening eating chips in front of the TV — that's how your evening will probably end up looking, as well."

What life advice were you given in the past that has been really helpful today?
