One person was killed and three injured in a shooting at a synagogue in Poway (near San Diego, California) on Saturday afternoon, according to tweets from Poway's sheriff and the local police department.


Three other people were injured, and a 19-year old suspect is currently in police custody.

The Poway Station of the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department said on Twitter that the shooting happened at around 11:30 a.m. local time at the Chabad of Poway synagogue in Poway, Calif., about 25 miles north of San Diego. They have been sharing updates on the story via their Twitter accounts.
