Please Tampa Bay McDonald’s… please be one of those “at participating restaurants” for this one!
As part of a new “international menu,” McDonald’s is bringing a new McFlurry flavor to America: Stroopwafel. I am way late to the stroowafel bandwagon. On a flight a couple years ago, the attendant gave me game-changing advice: dunk it in tea. Being a Floridian, to me tea means cold sweet tea. But to create this magic, it’s worth going British.
The Stroopwafel McFlurry is inspired by The Netherlands. If you’ve never had a Stroopwafel, the packaging says it all: a “soft, toasted waffle filled with caramel, cinnamon and real bourbon vanilla.” I think most Publix locations have them. Since that first experience having one on that flight, I just get ’em from Amazon. The McFlurry will have chunks mixed in with their vanilla soft service ice cream and a caramel swirl.

Also on this international menu is the “Grand McExtreme Bacon Burger” from Spain with bacon, a smoky sauce, gouda cheese and onions. Or from Canada, try a tomato mozzarella chicken sandwich. Finally, they’ve been available before, but McDonald’s is bringing back their “Australian” cheesy bacon fries for this.
But let’s just focus on that Stroopwafel McFlurry.
